new year, new lease on life

2007 dah nak habis, masuk lak 2008.

Apa resolusi 2007 anda yang masih belum tercapai? apa yang akan anda buat untuk 2008? cuba capai resolusi 2007 yang sebenarnya resolusi 2006 dan seterusnya?

Myself? I'm hoping 2008 will start fresh with a new job. Yay people! I got myself a new job! I was supposed to submit my resignation letter today but i got an SMS from the boss saying i have to go up north come morning light. Since i'm commuting using wife's car it's gonna be tricky. And maybe to put up for the night... cisss. So i'm gonna hop in the office, drop the letter and then drove up north. Hahahha...

Anyway, to pass Sunday we made an early drive to Mid Valley MegaMall with the kids for lunch and take pictures of their season decorations. There was a fantasy lake like setting complete with "lalang", seed pods... it was marvelous. As we move to the jusco area (north side?) we see a christmas tree with giant mushrooms! Nisa was overjoyed!

Nisa: "Macam Mario la ayah!"

We had a great time and hoping all of you will have the same!

Happy New Year 2008!

Semoga Allah merahmati anda dan keluarga anda! Dan jgn cakap bohong!

PS: Pics will be up soon, if i can find a scanner and process the film... i know i'm still using an old school Nikon F55D... maybe i should add an addition to my resolution... buy a new digital camera!

It's end of the year + the writers strike, expect a few weeks of you fav TV series before running out of episodes, which afterwards, we will be treated with endless reruns and reality tv shows.

Movies: Source from JoBlo.com, IMDB.com,

  1. M. Night Shyamalan's THE HAPPENING is... well... err... happening (at least the poster is happening). The Happening is a paranoid thriller in which a family must survive a global environmental crisis. The film will portray the earth as a victim of mankind's doings, which causes a global backlash. Check out the cool poster here.
  2. From the dudes who brought you The Matrix Trilogy comes a beloved cartoon of the 60's Speed Racer! Starring: Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox, Susan Sarandon. I've watch the trailer and it looks cool!!!!!! Check the trailer here!
  3. Punisher Warzone is in full gear, Frank Castle continues his war with the mobsters. Starring this dude Ray Stevenson of Rome fame. Info can be found here!
  4. And they're doing a life version of DRAGONBALL? This is gonna suck!! Read it here! http://www.joblo.com/chung-in-dragonball
  5. The most hush-hush movie has spill out its trailer. Pure to JJ Abrams style, this movie is gonna rock (except MI3 which was just so-so). Click HERE to view the aforementioned 1-18-08, err... Slusho, err... Cloverfield movie.

That's all for now!

Nisa Wants to Help RALK and likes Big Mushroom Burger!

This is supposed to be Saturday's entry but i kinda forgot. So here goes...

Saturday morning, the whole family went to Tesco and bought supplies for Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih. We didn't buy much probably enough to last them 1-2 days extra of food. Since school will open next month we decided to throw in a few boxes of pencils and drawing papers.

It was a good chance to educate Nisa about the less fortunate, which afterwards she relate a story about her friend in nursery who lost her mother a few weeks back. We told her that it is a part of life and we must always help the needy especially "anak yatim" just like her friend and that Allah will test us in different ways and we must emerge triumphant... she understood although she was a little apprehensive at first.

Afterwards, as i have promised Nisa to take her out on Saturday, so i decided to have lunch at Carl's Jr Sunway Pyramid. Wife was curious about Carl's but takde la excited ke apa ke... Bagus juga Piramid nih dah siap renovate maka parking pun banyak la... takde la nak pusing sampai 30 minit cari parking lagi! After arriving at Carl's...

Nisa: "Echa taknak makan la, kenyang lagi. Echa nak drinks saja."
Ayah: "Betul ke ni? Ayah nak beli Portobello mushroom burger untuk mama. Betul Nisa taknak makan?"
Nisa: "Ayah ni, Echa kata Echa nak drinks saja. Air strawberry."

Ayah: "Betul ni?"
Nisa: "Ye."

Miahhahah... Ok la anakku... So we bought Beef Chili Fries with Cheese, Portobello Mushroom, Double Western Bacon, Charbroiled Chicken Salad, fries and drinks. Nisa was happy because she was looking forward for the outing... even asked if she can pay for her drinks herself.

Hehehe... she's getting the concept of money and was eager to try herself... sbb selama ni asyik tanya ayah dgn mama aje... so i let her pay for our lunch (using my money of course! -silly of you to think otherwise!) and ask her to keep the change in her Tiger bank...

Nisa: "Ooo tabung harimau tu ke?"
Ayah: "Yes"

As we sat down at the table, she had a whiff of the Portobello and suddenly went...

Nisa: "Mama, Echa nak makan Burger Mushroom lah!"

Hahhahaa... My wife was glad to share as she couldn't finish the burger on her own... Najah had salad and fries and Maktok had tea with her food.

If you've read my wife's blog, we are currently encouraging Nisa to sleep in her room. We promised her a lampu bunga from IKEA... so OK la, anything to encourage Nisa to sleep on her own...

Carl's Junior

When i was a teenager, i had the opportunity to hangout at Carl's Jr. They were in KL back in the mid 90's. I remember 2 locations; 1 - underneath Dataran Merdeka, there used to be a small shopping mall there and; 2 - in front of Kotaraya. (My friend went to 1 near the KL bird park 10 yrs ago - or so he claims!)

Owned by Carl Karcher (which also owns Hardee's - i had a taste of Hardee's during my stay in Madinah, K.S.A.) CKE Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE: CKR) is the parent company of the Carl's Jr., Hardee's, Green Burrito, and Red Burrito restaurant chains. Its headquarters are in Carpinteria, California. It was incorporated in 1964 by Carl's Jr. founder Carl Karcher as Carl Karcher Enterprises, Inc.

I liked their food because it tasted different, a welcome change from the normal KFC, McD's all over town. And now they're BACK!!!
Apparently, everything in Carl's Jr has gone BIG and i mean BIG!!!! i had a lunch worth RM30/=.

Here's what i had:
1 x Portobello Mushroom Burger (the size of a BK's whopper)
1 x Large Drink (the size of 7-11's big gulp - refillable)
1 x Beef Chilli fries with cheese (upgrade from large fries)
The Portobello Mushroom was so delicious. I've never tasted a mushroom burger such as this, drinks were tasteless (no/little sugar - just the way i like it!) but there were sugar water/packets next to the dispenser.
Rate: 4/5

Conclusion:
If you are hungry, but tired of BK (or other fast food restaurants) and don't want to wait 15-45 mins for a table at Chili's. Then try Carl's Jr. It will be worth it!!

Death... it's closer than you think!

Death is always something that we try very hard to avoid confronting, be it in a family, circle of friends, general public. We would change the subject, ask to talk about something else, even went as far as "Nanti la/Later" or "Tak apa/It's OK" attitude and thinking i'm still young and still a long way to go before i die. In fact, death is close to us everyday, when you go to school, when you drive, when you pee and the closest thing to death you experience everyday is while you are sleeping. ~at least by my account~

As stated in this hadith:

Dari Abdullah r.a katanya:”Pada suatu waktu Ummu Habibah, isteri nabi s.a.aw
berdoa:”Ya Allah!

(Muslim)

~sorry, too lazy to do the translation in english~

Everybody deals with death in his/her own way. As experienced by a fellow blogger, pointed-out in my wife's link in her blog. I'll call her Kak D since she's older than me. My wife has been reading Kak D's entry for sometime now, but today, a friend asked me about Kak D's entries thinking is she someone that we know. I said no, and decided to head-on to her blog for a closer peek.

So what happens next is me spending a good 2 hours reading all her entries. Kak D's husband just passed away due to cancer. In her blog, she wrote about her activities and kids and the news when her husband was diagnosed with cancer and until his passing. As tears started to pour from my eyes (in the office, mind you), i think she really did a good job being a wife and a mother to her children with patience, love and dedication. I don't know whether i can do the same. Tragedy like this could easily put a man into tears. In my book, that makes her a Super Woman.

My prayers are with her and her family. May Allah bless you.

Ok The Wedding is on!

This the follow up of the "WAR" topic. So my dad, decided to get married anyway, he told my mom just now around 645pm. He said to mom because i had called Puan Noraini without his permission, he was going to get married anyway. So now i'm the cause! If not I to defend my family then who else? Even after i told him why we were angry, he still refused to discuss with the family... what to do...?

Takpe lah, i pray he get married through the proper channel,

I love my daughters

I'm the malas2 type to upload video because you need to upload to hosting first dan lelain lagi... malas aaaa....

The video below are my 2 daughters Nisa & Najah. Kudos to my wife yang rajin convert video and all pastu upload kat yutube...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWKmp-TRxas

Tell me what you think!

War!! Sort of...

For all you movie buffs out there, it has nothing to do with the Jet Li/Jason Statham movie... sorry.

So i am officially "anak derhaka" as of 8.47pm - 2/10/2007 - Tuesday. I called Puan Noraini Taha (my dad's GF and i'm still being polite calling her Puan! ecehhh... ^_^) and we had a 20 minutes or so discussion. and i found out a lot of things from her but i will not write it here.

I am only trying to defend my family (esp. my mother). i have no objection for my dad to take another wife. But why the lies? even when we have solid proof! 12 years ago the same thing happened with the same GF! The lies... all the liessssss... enough with the lies...

And this morning as i was about to start a meeting with a client, i received an sms from dad asking

~actual text message included here, including the spelling error~
"What have u done to ur father? Who giues u the permission to do what u have
done?"
Creepy... to come from a person who constantly lies (i believe the term is pathological liar). And so i reply with the answer below

~actual text message included here, including the spelling error~
"What gives you the right to lie to us and to puan noraini? i want you to
respect mom and for all her sacrifice to and for you! Nobody said no to you
taking another wife because it is allowed, but u never asked and you lied about
it. Ingatkan taknak repeat the same mistake twice -the lying-. You changed so
drastically everybody noticed! Even maktok! Go figure.Dont put the blame on me
oranybody else, u brought this upon urself. Discuss nt. meeting."
I believe the problem started when we heard his elder brother (my Pak Long) took another wife and went "kahwin lari" all the way from Machap Johor and got married in Perak. maybe he thought...
"if he can pull it off, so can i"

Hahaha...

If i were to write everything that happened 12 years ago, i would do it in a heart beat. But i am not that cruel. I was raised a Muslim and tought to respect your parents, jangan degil, obey them...

so i guess there goes my ticket to heaven... ehhh, wait! Syurga bawah kaki ibu kan? Mak, ampunkan anak mak ni...

Now, being bulan Ramadhan and all, i am not mad. I'm just frustrated. That's all.

The story focuses on a brilliant college drop out, Jamie Sommers played by Michelle Ryan, trying to take care of her rebellious deaf sister, played by Mae Whitman, after the death of their parents. Her love interest, a college professor of Bio-Ethics played by Chris Bowers leads a double life and works for a secret government agency capable of improving humans with specialized nanites and bio-synthetic organs/appendages. The first attempt at doing so failed when the prototype Sarah, played by Katiee Shackoff, grew too powerful to control and decided she no longer wanted to be a lab rat and revolted. Using her military background, she managed to force her way out of the facility after killing many scientists. Sarah would latter lead to the near death of Jamie by driving a semi into her car. The crash killed the unborn baby within her, fathered by the professor. Through the work performed by the professor and the agency, he managed to save Jamie's life by giving her a new arm, leg, eye, ear, and replacing most of her blood with the nanites, giving her great regenerative abilities. Originaly, Jamie rejects her implants angrily. The man in charge of the facility, played by Miguel Ferrer, reminds her that most of her now multi-million dollar body is owned by the government and that she could, at any moment disappear from the world. Jamie manages to leave and unknowingly has a chat at the bar in which she works with Sarah. The implants begin to activate and Sarah introduces herself as the version before her. After an attempt on the Professors life by Sarah, the two have a large battle which exposes both of their weaknesses. Jamie decides she will work for the agency and help it with its missions but on one condition: she still has control over herself and isn't owned by anyone.

Reaper - Season 1 premiered 25/9/07 - a project Kevin Smith
Episode: Pilot
Synopsis: A twenty-something slacker works as a bounty hunter for the devil. For the first 20 years of his life, Sam (Bret Harrison, "The Loop," "Grounded for Life") wondered why his parents went so easy on him. Whether it was school, sports or career choices, Sam's mom (Allison Hossack, "Falcon Beach") and dad (Andrew Airlie, "The L Word") always let him get by with the least possible effort. As a result, Sam skipped college, took a dead-end job at the local Work Bench home improvement store and now wastes endless hours playing video games. Everything in his slacker world changed the day Sam turned 21 and discovered the ungodly reason his parents let him slide: they sold his soul to the devil before he was even born. When Satan himself (Ray Wise, "24," "The Closer") drops by to personally explain that Sam must now serve as his bounty hunter, tracking down evil souls that have escaped and returning them to Hell, Sam refuses to accept his bizarre fate. After getting just a glimpse of Satan's temper, however, Sam realizes that breaking a deal with the devil has consequences that are very, very bad. Still, Sam is fascinated by the devil's charm and his flattering insistence that Sam is full of untapped potential. Armed with a constantly changing series of vessels -- starting with a Dirt Devil mini-vacuum -- to collect the escapees, Sam finds that his new line of work is dangerous and frightening, even with the goofball help of his friends and co-workers Bert "Sock" Wysocki (Tyler Labine, "Boston Legal," "Invasion") and Ben (Rick Gonzalez, "Coach Carter"), along with Sock's former-girlfriend-turned-paralegal, Josie (Valarie Rae Miller, "Dark Angel"). Sock has been Sam's closest friend and slacker role model for many years and was the first person Sam turned to with the news about his gig with the devil.

Family Comes First

It's been 2 weeks since my last entry. I am so tired coupled with work and some problem it seems like throwing in the towel is the best option. I want to sleep and leave all my troubles behind and i've considered moving abroad. But if i do, what to become of my family?

It just doesn't seem right to abandon my mom and brother... I'm leaving this discussion open-ended so you guys can drop a line and share your thoughts with me. Your views may help me choose the right path...

Life is unfair to some...

As a Malay and a good Muslim nonetheless, we are thought to be good, generous, patience and basically be good. It is now the Holy month of Ramadhan. However, i am going to rant a bit today.

I am just frustrated with the current state of my life. I have a programming background and switched to doing sales/business development (but still retain my expertise as a system engineer with a consultant-like job) with a promise of greener pastures (money to support my family). It was going well for about a year and a half before i shift to my current job because of an even greeeeener pastures!! Hah!!!

And now, after 4 years, i have not improve my condition. I worked like a donkey, missed my kids growing up, sleep in the office... but guess what? NO MOOLAH!!!! And the reason you joined BD/Sales is to get more moolah!!!! It is said that there is where all the money are!!!! And for a kick-ass job i'm getting paid pennies!!!!!!! Where is my 20, 30, 90, 100K???

I'm tired, frustrated, miserable because i couldn't fulfill my promise to provide a better life for my family... My wife is being all okay about it and supported me through all the rough time... but until when?

Now my eldest daughter will start kindergarten next year, my MIL will require medical attention in the coming years... if my life isn't improving how can i keep all my promises?

Perhaps it's time to change job?
Perhaps a more desk-bound job?
Perhaps move to project management?

And the best part; "Takpa, nanti Feizal boleh beli kereta BMW utk makcik" (It's OK, Feizal will be able to buy you a BMW) - What a load of BULL!!!!

feeling depressed!

Help little Qistina!!!

As a parent of 2 angels, they are my life. They bring me joy everyday with their antics, joyfulness, inquisitive minds and i don't know what i would do without them. They are my heart and my soul. i would do anything for my children.

So when i came across Qistina's story, who happens to be my brother in law's friend whom i knew, i was so moved to see their perseverence working day and night to raise money for their little angel Qistina who is suffering from liver cancer ( hepatoblastoma ). At such a tender age, little Qistina has been tested with such a huge burden on her little fragile body, as if she knew that her parents are working day and night for her, she persevere too.

just got back from work

i have spent the last 11 days on the road (5/8 - 15-8) going from Tawau to Jerteh to Sintok to Sik and Mukah. It's very tiring, confusing and down right tiring... yes, that's the word... tiring.

All in the name of preparing for tender submission. Along the way, i've met people, enjoy various food and took roads i've never travelled before. It was an interesting journey, but i missed my little angels terribly.

I snap some photos which i will share in my next entry, so bare with me...

Harry Potter Mania!

The phenomenon that is Harry Potter has struck Malaysia last Saturday, i tried to buy the book myself but couldn't get a copy because by the time i arrived at Carrefour there was a sign saying " temporarily out of stock"... I was going to buy them there because i heard they're gonna sell it at discount and discount they were. RM 69.90 as opposed to RM109.90 at book stores. It started a boicott that the book stores cited will force them out of business if the trend continues... mix response was heard by the association and the ministers... and i haven't seen the book in any hypermarkets from then on... ah well, 109.90... that'll be 3 more months before i hv enough money to buy the book. hey... i have bills to pay!!!

testing

I've watched 300!!!

After 2 weeks of planning we got ourselves tickets to the much anticipated 300 movie directed by Zack Snyder.

All i can say is; EXCELLENT!!!!!!

The movie is fantastically done just like in the comic book. It is a visually stunning movie with all the dramatic effects, and limbs, and emotion, war cries, and limbs flying around, wonderful CGIs and flying limbs, blood! did mentioned limbs!!??

Go watch it, expect nothing more than a visually stunning bloodfest with a touch of honor, glory and freedom for your country. If only our ATM would have the resilience of the Spartans!

Gerard Butler is a wise choice for the part of King Leonidas.

5/5 stars!!!!!

songs i'm listening to right now!

Songs from Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny movie

Beelzeboss

[Beelz] I am complete!

[Both] Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!

[Beelz] yes you are fucked, shit out of luck
now i'm complete and my cock you will suck
the world will be mine and you're first in line
you brought me the pick and now you both shall die!

[JB] Wait! wait! Wait!
you muthafucka
we challenge you to a rock off!
give us one chance to rock your socks off

[Beelz] Fuck, fuck, fuck
the demon code prevents me
from declining a rock off challenge
what are your terms? what is the catch?

[JB] If we win,
you must take your sorry ass back to hell.
and also you will have to pay our rent

[Beelz] And what if *i* win?

[JB] then you can take Kage back to hell...
[KG] What?
[JB] trust me Kage, its the only way,
[KG] What the fuck are you talking about?
[JB] to be your little bitch.

[Beelz]Fine! Let the rock off begin!
hahahahaa
Im the devil i love metal!
Check this riff it's fucking tasty
i'm the devil i can do what i want,
whatever i got i'm gonna flaunt,
there's never been a rock off that i've ever lost
i cant wait to take Kage back to hell
i'm gonna fill him with my hot demon gel
i'll make him squeal like my scarlet pimpernel

[KG] Noooooo!
[JB] cmon Kage bring the thundah
[KG] there's just no way that we can win,
that was a masterpiece.
[JB] listen to me
[KG] he rocks too hard because he's not a mortal man
[JB] goddamn-it Kage,
he gonna make you his sex slave,
youre gonna gargle mayonnaise
unless we bust a massive monster mamma-jam.
[KG] dude, we've been through so much shit,
[JB] deactivated lasers with my dick
[BOTH] now its time to blow this fucker down!
[JB] C'mon Kage now it's time to blow doors down
[KG] I hear you Jables now it's time to blow doors down
[JB] Light up the stage cuz its time for a showdown
[KG] We'll bend you over then we'll take ya to brown town
[BOTH] Now we've got to blow this fucker down
[KG] He's gonna rape me if we do not blow doors down
[JB] C'mon Kage cuz it's time to blow doors down
[KG] OOOOOOh (?) It's time for the black out

[JB] Hey anti-christ-er,
Beelzeboss,
we know your weakness our rocket-sauce
we rock the casbah, and blow your mind
we will defeat you, for all mankind
you hold the scepter,
we hold the key
you are the devil,
we are the D [17x]

[Beelz]You guys are fuckin' lame. Come on Kage, You're comin with me.Taste my lightning fucker!

[Tenacious D:]
[JB] NOOOO!
[Beelz]ow! Fuck!
My Fuckin' horn! ooohh no!
[JB] From whence you came you shall remain, until you are complete again

[Beelz]Nooooooo! Fuck you Kage and Fuck you Jables!I'll get you Tenacious D!

Tagged again!

Whats with this fascination of tagging people? Okla, as a dutiful netizen (wish i could say the same in reeal world)! Here i go!

Weirdos:

WEIRDO 1- I am often become the fashion reference by my female peers... probably because i'm a male and i'm willing enough to be dragged along... sigh!

WEIRDO 2- I am also the unofficial shouder to cry on... sigh!

WEIRDO 3- I have a friend who claims he can see apparitions!!

WEIRDO 4- I have a friend who thinks that we are living in a matrix-like environment... (lame!)

WEIRDO 5- I have a friend who actualy likes matured women!!! (eeeeiiiiii!!!)

WEIRDO 6- I can't think of anything else except that i am really a sweet and caring and very strict person. So far my family has show great resilience to my antics. It makes me wonder, if my family are Borg? Weird...

The next 6 WEIRDOERs should be > anybody who read this. and please hit back!!

Movies i've watch for the past months or so...

Here's a summary of all the movies i've watched for the last couple of months:

Rocky Balboa = 3/5 stars - a very true underdog movie. Watch it with an open heart and it will not disappoint you.
Ghost Rider = 3/5 stars - a solid beginning movie just like F4 was. the baddies met with easy deaths though. :(
Happy Feet = 3/5 stars - an okay animated adult movie. CG was fantastic, storywise so-so.
Casino Royale = 4/5 stars - a surprisingly entertaining James Bond.

It seems the frequency has dwindled significantly due to work

Malaysians fascination with plate numbers

Hi,

It's been a while and i've been busy with tons of work. First and foremost i would to do a shoutout for my 2 friends who celebrates their birthdays this month. Azah and Raini, so when are we gonna have our party?? It's been a crazy 11 years of friendship and i hope it stays that way!!

Ok, on with todays' topic. Malaysians fascination with plate numbers. Because we have yet to implement personalize numbers so we have to make do with what we have with the current system. Here are some examples:

AL 10 = It's either his name is Ah lio or Air Liur (saliva) hahah! On a Perdana V6 somewhere in SS14 PJ.

BGX 8055 = BIG BOSS on a Renault Espace found it on KESAS highway.

PEN 15 = You guessed it, on a black PV6 sometime ago in Seri Endah.

BER 8154 = BERBISA (poisonous), on a blue wira long ago.

TAL 18 = TALIB which made headline a couple of months back on a silver Merc as a wedding gift.

There are more examples you can find on the road everyday. If you found one, hit back!

Misi Banjir Kg Sembrong!!!

Oleh sebab sekarang ni musim banjir kat Johor, dan sebagai anak jati Johor (hehehe), aku pun join le misi bantuan mangsa banjir yg kompeni aku sponsor. Walhal aku malas nak pergi sebenarnya sbb yg ikut nnt org kenamaan, sure byk suruh dari buat kerja... maksudnya, more work for me and my team... hahaha.

I will snap some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Doakan la amal aku ini diterima Allah, dan semoga aku dijauhkan dari hasad dengki dan khianat.

Amin.

What i hate most about people

I'm sure that most of you have, at some point in time, face with people problems. I hope to weed out of these problems by this year because it is distracting, annoying, makes you want to skip work, makes you harbor ill-feelings towards your colleagues, etc, etc...

Well, here are some of my people problems which are on the top of my list:

1) People who lie - lie, nuff said.
2) People who kiss ass - these are people who pleases the boss even when the boss is wrong, in short, the boss is always right! Not like you...
3) People who borrow money from you and seems to forget to pay it back - there are a lot of people who falls into this category, and the shit part is when we ask for our money back, they make noises as though we are causing them trouble!!! The nerve!!!
4) People who promise you tons of sweet things but never keep those promises - This category always follows the head honchos, the bosses, the el capitan!!
5) People who likes to swindle - This category also always follows the head honchos, the bosses, the el capitan!! and the HR Dept as well!!!
6) People who is not co-operative - The old bastards who has worked for the company for like ages...!!!
7) People who likes to pass jobs to others - This category also always follows the head honchos, the bosses, the el capitan!! and the old bastards!!!!

More to come...!!!
