My ADSL modem died

Update:
I called the techline number again at 8:00pm ... asking them when will their techincian arrive... and guess what? " Maaf encik, hari ni (Sunday) dan Sabtu, technician cuti" Then why the hell did the technician wanted to come over on Sunday? TMNet ni bodoh nak mampus!!!!

As a Streamyx user, my adsl modem is my life line to the world!!
And since the modem suddenly died... i've called the infamous 1300889515 and they managed to put me on hold everytime!

Their call centre should be faster and more efficient!

MODEM FAULTY ON 21/3/2006
called techline, will reply within 24-48 hrs
called at 1025pm, on the line for 16:12 seconds
report no: 1176707

2nd call on 22/3/2006
on the line for 10:42 seconds
now the dsl led also died

3rd call on 25/3/2006
called at 10:47 am - forgot to timed myself... :(
Techie said that the problem should be resolved by 6 pm today... so i'm crossing my finger!

4th call on 25/3/2006
called at 6:52 pm
Time of 15:00 minutes and the report says that a techie wants to meet me on Sunday... but get this no time was given?!?!

This is BS!!! Why didn't they or the techie call me? Why is there a remark on the system that the techie wants to meet me on Sunday but i didn't know about it? And why do i have to call them to find out about this? They have my numbers... pick the phone and call me..!!!! I'm tired of this... whoever got the contract for TMNut's helpdesk should be fired!!! And my problem isn't resolved despite the 48 hour mark is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy past due!!!! and they should have a toll free 1 800 number!!!!!! AAAAAAARGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Friday will be the last of a very hectic 3 weeks of documents, tenders, proposals and countless cups of coffee...

It has been an enduring several weeks, i have spent most of my time in the office doing several tenders and proposals in a very tight schedule... and thank god i managed to finish 'em all! My final job is a computer setup proposal due on Friday at 3 pm. :D

I just had lunch with my wife and i brought her to a place in KL called Kedai Nasi Kandar Kudu Bin Abdul. An old nasi kandar shop near the junction of Jln Sultan Ismail and Jalan Tuanku Abd Rahman. The shop has changed very little for as long as i can remember. Decorating it are pictures of P. Ramlee from the heydays of Malay Film era. It is said that P. Ramlee used to frequent this shop.

On the way back to the office, my car temperature went up! I mean it was blistering hot in KL but not enough to affect my engine! Why does it have to be in the middle of the month?! AARRGGHH!! Well, i trip to the mechanic will solve the problem... from what i see, it could be the fan malfunctioning again!

V for Vendetta will open this week all around the world (March 16th) but i'm not sure when in Malaysia... Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, V For Vendetta tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked vigilante (Hugo Weaving) known only as "V." Profoundly complex, V is at once literary, flamboyant, tender and intellectual, a man dedicated to freeing his fellow citizens from those who have terrorized them into compliance. He is also bitter, revenge-seeking, lonely and violent, driven by a personal vendetta. In his quest to free the people of England from the corruption and cruelty that have poisoned their government, V condemns the tyrannical nature of their appointed leaders and invites his fellow citizens to join him in the shadows of Parliament on November the 5th – Guy Fawkes Day. On that day in 1605, Guy Fawkes was discovered in a tunnel beneath Parliament with 36 barrels of gunpowder. He and his co-conspirators had engineered the treasonous “Gunpowder Plot” in response to the tyranny of their government under James I. Fawkes and his fellow saboteurs were hanged, drawn and quartered, and their plan to take down their government never came to pass...

Then there's also the Ice Age 2... which my daughter will like so much!

in the end... Duit lagiii!

What's wrong with my car...

I bought the 1995 Perdana SEi in February 2005. That is 1 year a few days back. I have no quirm about the car except... the parts are so insanely expensive!! Imagine 1 piece of headlight will set you back at RM 398.00 without installation... That is only at "Kedai Abang" (Brother's to some of you!).

I mean it is a rebadge of a Mitsubishi Eterna (see picture left... gee looks very familiar!!! ) from the early 90s and judging by the 10 years plus of production in Malaysia should have made the parts cheaper for us consumers.

My power steering hose has just started leaking fluid, my shocks are busted with all the bush worn out. My seat fabric is a nightmare, with puke and god knows what else! Definitely need a new make over... where's Xzibit when i need him!!! Yo X, pimp my ride!!! or maybe i should try the local version ... "Mobilku" :D
