Summer movies started with the launch of MI:3 on May 3rd. Consequently, i missed it until tonight when me and my work buddies skipped work to catch the last show at MBO Warta Bangi. It was a 9:45 pm show and lasted for slightly over 2 hours.
So here's the review.
Movie started with a scene where our hero Ethan Hunt got tied to a chair and was forced to tell the location of "RABBIT's FOOT" or the missus gets it. Yep... that's right folks!!! Ethan Hunt got married and was officially a trainer in IMF and was leaving the whole gun totting life. The count down begins... 10, 9, 8, 7, 6... 1, a shot was fired!
Rewinds back to where the story really begins! Ethan was being introduced by Julia to friends and family and announcing they were getting married. Lo and behold, a call came in and Ethan met up with his superior at a 7-11.
And off he goes to Germany to save agent Lindsey (Keri Russel) which has been abducted and has stumbled upon a plot by a Owen Davian (played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman) which involves the use of a rabbit's foot.
The movie is generally fast-paced with some slow parts which involves lenghty and unentertaining/unimaginative lines and camera work. It feels very dragging and... just... feels awful.
The director, JJ Abrams (of Alias fame) hand is weird... i mean the action scene is cool and very finely shot with breathtaking angles and a matching track to boot. But the movies feels a bit dragging. Maybe JJ Abrams is not the best choice of director for the film. Who know... i'm only a nobody!
Verdict:
Best bit: Seeing Malaysia Airlines logo in the movie in Shanghai. Wahooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! :D
