When i was a teenager, i had the opportunity to hangout at Carl's Jr. They were in KL back in the mid 90's. I remember 2 locations; 1 - underneath Dataran Merdeka, there used to be a small shopping mall there and; 2 - in front of Kotaraya. (My friend went to 1 near the KL bird park 10 yrs ago - or so he claims!)
Owned by Carl Karcher (which also owns Hardee's - i had a taste of Hardee's during my stay in Madinah, K.S.A.) CKE Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE: CKR) is the parent company of the Carl's Jr., Hardee's, Green Burrito, and Red Burrito restaurant chains. Its headquarters are in Carpinteria, California. It was incorporated in 1964 by Carl's Jr. founder Carl Karcher as Carl Karcher Enterprises, Inc.
I liked their food because it tasted different, a welcome change from the normal KFC, McD's all over town. And now they're BACK!!!
Apparently, everything in Carl's Jr has gone BIG and i mean BIG!!!! i had a lunch worth RM30/=.
1 x Portobello Mushroom Burger (the size of a BK's whopper)
1 x Large Drink (the size of 7-11's big gulp - refillable)
1 x Beef Chilli fries with cheese (upgrade from large fries)
The Portobello Mushroom was so delicious. I've never tasted a mushroom burger such as this, drinks were tasteless (no/little sugar - just the way i like it!) but there were sugar water/packets next to the dispenser.
Rate: 4/5
Conclusion:
If you are hungry, but tired of BK (or other fast food restaurants) and don't want to wait 15-45 mins for a table at Chili's. Then try Carl's Jr. It will be worth it!!
